Post 1: Vera Cruz Amethyst

Vera Cruz Amethyst is a very rare and special form of Amethyst that is harvested at only one mine in the entire world.
It comes from Vera Cruz, Mexico and is in fact being mined to depletion!
Although this commercial mining technique is not what we support at The Crystalline Cavern, we are delighted and blessed every time we come into contact with one of these magnificent pieces. Vera Cruz crystals are most often an inch long and a very deep lilac purple, while somewhat translucent. These Amethyst points are considered a high-grade mineral and are cherished by enthusiasts worldwide. These
minerals are considered Silicates, as they are Quartz relatives, and are composed of Silicone Dioxide (SiO2).

In terms of healing properties, Vera Cruz Amethyst is an effective source of relief for anxiety, migraines and insomnia, and can aid in overcoming addiction and breaking bad habits. This high vibrational crystal works to protect those around it from negative influences. This is a fantastic healing crystal for those who experience difficulty in meditation. Vera Cruz Amethyst resonates on the third eye chakra’s vibrational field and it is recommended that, to enhance intuition and spiritual connection, the point of the Amethyst be directed above and between the brows toward one’s pineal gland or third eye . The astrological sign associated with Vera Cruz Amethyst is Pisces.

The Crystalline Cavern is extremely lucky and grateful to have acquired a massive specimen of Vera Cruz Amethyst. In fact, we haven’t ever seen a piece of Vera Cruz Amethyst this large, in person or online, and consider it a prized possession! The piece weighs in at roughly 76 grams, 4 inches long & 2 inches wide. Compared to an average Vera Cruz Amethyst (5.2 grams, 2 inches long and 0.25 inches wide), it is very obvious that this is an extraordinary specimen.

Amethyst is one of the strongest stones in the world. Well, that is actually an overstatement for it, but it is also kind of true. Sure, it may not be as hard as diamond or anything, but it is still pretty tough compared to others. Aside from its toughness, Amethyst is also known for its beauty. I would love to wear an amulet made from it. I hope that I can make myself an amulet made out of pure amethyst.
