Post 2: Skeletal Elestial Smokey Quartz Enhydro

For someone who doesn’t know all of the fun terminology used to describe minerals, this specimen will sound especially alien! 

Skeletal Elestial Smokey Quartz with Enhydro inclusions and Double Terminations

 In case you need some help understanding what this all means I will define each of these terms:

A quartz specimen is considered Skeletal when it presents an extreme visible depth. Unstable conditions during their growth result in irregular patterns and colors building upon each other from the core of the specimen to its exterior. It is considered Skeletal because it resembles a skeleton within a body, as if witnessed through an x-ray. An Elestial crystal is an extreme version of a skeletal crystal that takes form with deep etchings and patterns on the exterior layer. Skeletal and Elestial crystals aid in spiritual and personal growth and healing. They are especially helpful for those who feel unsupported or have been through major trauma.

Enhydro Inclusions are formed when bubbles of water are trapped within a mineral. These bubbles are sometimes seen moving within a crystal and are other times overlooked if they are stationary or are located deeper in the core of the specimen. Sometimes specimen with these inclusions are nicknames Enhydros, and they create a balance between earth and water elements. Earth is often associated with practicality and productivity while Water is associated with emotion and creativity.

Smokey Quartz is a form of quartz that varies from dark to translucent grey, black or brown due to natural radiation in its area of formation. Quartz is composed of Silicon Dioxide (SiO2) and the color of the Smokey quartz depends on the amount of free silicone present during its construction. Smokey quartz is an effective healing crystal for warding off negative energies from one’s environment or from within themselves. Those with depression or who are regularly exposed to harmful influences will benefit from a Smokey quartz crystal.

Double Terminated crystals form with points at opposite ends. The termination in crystals direct energy from the center outward toward the points. Double terminated crystals are often used in reiki and other forms of healing work as they can direct energy very efficiently from a crystal to the subject. Quartz is considered the ultimate amplifier. When a double terminated crystal is placed between a healing mineral of choice and the subject it directs and enhances the energy of the mineral to the subject efficiently.
